I agree on the annuity with a pot that size. I would put it in my wife's name though.

I don't know if I'd be around long enough to collect it all. I'm an old geezer. I could go tomorrow (I hope I go tomorrow, I haven't gone today yet).

If I calculated correctly thats only a bit over 1.5 mllion. Of course right now that would be alot of money but a serious drop from 7 million. If I took that as a lump sum, yes I would pay off my mortage and since I have none of the other stuff you mentioned ( thank you God) then I would use my current home as a rental and start building on the new house. Even after the taxes on $7 million, the amount is still welcomed. Imagaine, paying off a mortgage, college tuition, credit cards, or student loans. Happy New Year to the winner

Finally got my wish in 2009! No I didn't win the lottery but California actually had two jackpots in a row. First and big one at $47m and then the $7m new minimum amount. I'm getting closer and closer to thinking that the California Lottery is legit! sweet!

I think if I won that small amount of money, I would seriously consider taking a chance on an annuity. Half of $7m plus 30% off the top doesn't leave much money.

California's SuperLotto Plus game may soon be delivering a heck of a stocking stuffer for someone in the Coachella Valley.

Lottery officials say a ticket with all six winning numbers worth $7 million was sold at a Chevron mini-mart south of Desert Hot Springs next to I-10.

It was very exciting when we saw there was a winner, said Lottery spokesperson Cathy Doyle Johnston. How's that for a Christmas gift?

The winning numbers were 8, 19, 20, 21, 41. The Mega number was 3.
