Oregon Lottery employee promoted to interim director

Larry Niswender was promoted Tuesday to interim director of the Oregon Lottery.

Niswender was named by Gov. Ted Kulongoski to succeed Dale Penn. Penn was named by Kulongoski to a Marion County circuit judgeship.

Niswender has been at the Oregon Lottery since September 2005, when he became assistant director for support services and deputy director under Penn.

His commitment to serving taxpayers and his leadership experiences in both the legislative and executive branches of government
