If this was due to hacking, it highlights something I've been in favor of for years - long prison terms for hackers or anyone caught sending out viruses.

Computer driven crimes' punishment should be commensurate with the havoc and loss they cause, which is staggering.

I realize it would involve international cooperation but a message needs to be sent to these thieves and miscreants that there is a heavy price to be paid if they get caught.

PlayNow may have compromised users' personal information, opposition party says

British Columbians' personal information may have been compromised when the government's online gambling website, PlayNow.com, crashed last week, according to the New Democratic Party.

PlayNow, the first government-sanctioned online casino in North America, was shut down only hours after it was launched last Thursday.
