Unfortunately if you won, you would NOT have that option to remain anonymous.

It is public information: the winners name, state, age and where ticket was purchased. And if the lottery officlas want to hold a press conference and take video/pictures you have to if you want your check =)

Thats why I always say when I win, I will have my picture taken with me wearing some crazy wig, huge sunglasses and acting like a complete wacko so no one would notice me on a normal day

we iive in a litigious society. a shot at some money may beat no shot at all. people are greedy and needy when it comes to money.

Since he worked in law enforcement and the justice departments, his fellow pool players and co-workers should understand legalities and the fact that they only shared tickets bought by the pools.

Seems like a nice guy, but there would/will be no pictures, or personal information given out if I am so lucky.

He said he also has been playing the lottery with a pool of other county magistrates and staff, and also played in a Circuit Court pool.....Smith, who was the Berkeley County sheriff for eight years, said he buys tickets every morning before work.

Sounds like he plays a lot.

For about two hours, Berkeley County Magistrate W. Randy Smith believed he had come close, but that he didn't win Saturday's $79 million Powerball jackpot.

On call Sunday morning at the Berkeley County Judicial Center to hold arraignment hearings, Smith asked his assistant, Mary D. Angelo, to look at the ticket that he bought from the ROCS store at 39 Kelly Island Road near Martinsburg.
