The odds of a big-money winning ticket sold at a particular outlet is wholly dependent on the number of tickets sold there.

In my neighborhood there's a busy supermarket and five smaller outlets that sell tickets. For as long as I've played I've gone to the smaller outlets because the supermarket has already sold several winners, and I keep thinking the other places are due. I think it's time to rethink that theory.

I looked back and the 2nd highest jackpot this year was $144 million won in Texas so it'd be cool if I (or someone else from Texas) won since how close the numbers would be.

Was going out for a drive here in a bit and may pick up one more ticket.

I have a handful of tickets tonight so I sure hope at least one is the one.

I think I need to buy a few more though, just to be sure.

Really hoping a state hits it this time that has never hit before, you know, like TN.

But I guess GA or SC wont be bad either since I have tickets from there too :)

Largest jackpot in more than seven months

The jackpot for tonight's multi-state Mega Millions lottery draw is $145 million, the most since May 4th.

The lump-sum cash payout of tonight's jackpot is $91.8 Million, if the winner decides to take the whole thing at once.

Tonight's draw, set for 11 p.m. Eastern Time, will be the 12th since the last time a ticket was sold that matched all six numbers drawn.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536.
