Here's the way most people look at it, son.

If you don't vote, you can't complain.

If you're not actively being a part of the solution, then you're just part of the problem.

If all you do is complain about things and don't do anything to change them, you're just a complainer, nothing else.

Get off your duff and contribute in some way or you'll still be sitting here complaining when we get another 4 years of Dopey.

what was my complaint about ma.. i don't care about the politicians or politics for that matter.. they're all crooked or they wouldn't have reached the position that they got to.. you should be complaining about the strip mining in your region and what they don't do about the mess the leave..

i've never voted for anyone ever....the thing in ma is that it is democratic and those people who vote just check off the straight democratic ticket boxes....dukaka was a dem and of course the blue blooded kennedys were. they couldn't possibly lose an election in this state. by the way when was the last time you came down from the hills to get supplies for your outhouse and moonshine still.

i thought you were from appalachia (w va-va-tn-ky) or does a portion of it stretch down into ga? how did we give you dukakis when he was nominated at a national convention? the kennedy's were bootlegging crooks everyone knows and accepts that...but jimmy carter probably the worst president in modern history is from that state with the inept lottery officals who i am ridiculing not the general population.

3 hours to draw a daily number seems idiotic...i guess they finished filming deliverance II down in that hick state and had nothing else to do.. i thought they hated gambling in that bible belt state (no horse racing allowed) but they let the poor peanut farmers buy lottery tickets...

What I mean is that it's possible to determine if the drawings are being conducted fairly and randomly by looking at the numbers drawn over time. The whole pre draw thing is overkill IMHO, and was concocted by the big accounting/auditing firms, applying typical auditor overkill. Like shooting a mosquito with an elephant gun.

I'm a little confused by what you mean. What's the difference between random sampling and pre-tests? I thought my post may have been confusing, what I was referring to is that if you do pre-tests, and only used statistical analysis on those real draws, it should be just as effective as if you used every draw, including the pre draws as long as no error was found in the machines during those tests.

@ Even though the actual drawing takes less than 60 seconds, the entire drawing process consumes approximately three hours ..

I wonder if it takes em an hour and a half to watch 60 minutes too

LOL is right!

I agree on the random sampling being better than the pre-tests. If Tenessee had done that when they switched over to computerized drawings, they may have discovered the faulty drawing computer program a month earlier. (Then again, if they stuck with real drawings, it may not have happened at all, and they might even be making more money today.

Though I'm not thoroughly convinced that pre-draws take anything away from the player. Testing a sample of a random even should produce similar, although different, results to testing a random event. Essentially, I'm saying, even though pre-draws effect the results (as in, changes what they would have been) I'm not convinced that pre-draws break apart trends as much as I'm convinced pre draws just cause different trends to appear....
