for a small prize, such as 50k, ya sign the ticket

if it would of never got stolen, their would be no media at all, and he could of said no to phote op. so really no worry's

the issue i have thro, is In tennessee you can claim via trusts, and any legal setup really,

so Dont sign that powerball/mega millions jackpot ticket,

Just Do Not Say Anything About winning it

Dont go to a store and scan the ticket. its called read the numbers and match.

The guy is one lucky son of a gun for having signed his ticket. I'm willing to bet his friend considered cashing it in until he realized it was already signed and then tried to give it back anonymously.

How could he NOT pay attention to where his $50,000 ticket was at all times? After 10 seconds I would have been holding my hand out for the return of the ticket. If they couldn't produce it, I would drive the car straight to the police station.

I think when you win some big money, you find out who your friends are...or your definition of friends

changes for some of your friends. Some might make remarks they just can't help making, some may treat

Im with u Ridge: how do u let someone hold a ticket worth 50 K and not take it right back when they're done? Just doesn't seem to add up.

He must not be a LP member because if he was he would have known you can't trust anyone but yourself with your winning lottery ticket, no even a friend. Some folks see lottery winning as unearned so they get a little jealous when someone else wins, even a friend.

Last night I stopped at a Shell station in Franklin and the clerk was telling me this Columbia guy came in and shared his story. She said hecwad obviously shaken up and upset.

Sounds to me like it was his own friend that took the ticket (not the friends friend) because a phonenumber was given with the ticket when mailed. So I guess he was upset he has lost a friend.

Wow, that's a tough one to figure out who had it and realized they couldn't cash it in without getting caught and so just mailed it in.

John Holder must have felt like he couldn't win for losing.

The 45-year-old Columbia resident worked as a roofer until a back injury forced him to live on disability benefits. He's resided at an assisted living facility since December.

Then on Sept. 2 Holder's luck seemed to change. That's when he bought a winning scratch-off ticket worth $50,000 from a local convenience store. That same day, the ticket went missing.
