I always my play my tickests at a Go Mart here. The place is usually fairly busy and i think 1 employee there calls me by first name. I dont know any of the clerks thers name but i do make small talk with 3 or 4 of tham. If i my name was announce as buying the winning ticket there since they dont know my name they wouldnt know it was me. But if they saw my picture on TV im sure any of the clerks that have been working there recently would know who i was once they saw my pictureand tell you i buy... [ More ]

I know the woman's name at the convenience store where I sometimes buy lottery tickets. It's Anna May. Anna May who, I dunno, and I dont care. She's a very nice lady though. She calls me Dear , but that aint nuthin special, cuz she calls all the men Dear .

There's a lot of conspiracy theories going around on this win. That's all they are... theories. If this jackpot was one of the smaller ones, none of this hoopla would have even come about.

As to knowing the clerks and managers, I know them and they know me, but only on sight and NOT by name. I, along with the vast majority of people, are not on a first name basis, nor do they know the names except from the clerk's nametag IF they have one. Secondly if you followed this story that for weeks the manager insisted he never knew the winners yet SUDDENLY he does??? Cut me abreak with how he now has a re-newed memory of the player??? That's the big thing I took away from this article.

While I wouldn't go so far as to call them liars , TV reporters do in fact ask leading questions so as to get the kinds of answers they need so as to be able to spin the story the way they want to tell it! It's all about getting a large number of eyeballs on the TV screen. Mario, I agree with you. If people don't find the story interesting, do not read it and do not comment on it. For those of us who find it interesting, let us enjoy it for it's entertainment value.

Maybe the people who get so offended by the comments and controversy this story generates, see themselves being harrased if they won the lottery.

Todd finds the story interesting that is why it gets posted. The story has legs because the guys who won are investment bankers not blue collar workers... [ More ]

Maybe it's just me but it sounds like Mr. Singh already got a tip in the form of Hush Money! After this many weeks he all of the sudden remembers the ticket buyer? I've had the people at my regular convience store remember me enough to say hi...but to be able to pick me out on tv(I doubt it!) When this first broke the lottery would have had to investigate and one of the first people they talk to would be the clerk. He could have ended the whole thing that day. Maybe it's the flu I have, but I read this article twice and I just can't understand what the controversy is actually about? Who is upset over what? Are people saying that the guy that bought the ticket is not a regular customer? So what? Who cares? Is it that he is NOT a construction worker? I don't get it.

Seriously, do you really think convenience store owners know or remember all their customer's names? The guy buys a cup of coffee apparently with cash on a regular basis. It does not call for introductions, but maybe friendly greetings. They said they recognized him after they saw his picture. Do YOU know the name of the clerks and owners of the convenience stores you frequent?

well said savage goose. Twas the players who paid and paid well. Funny how others like to take the credit for what the players and payers provided, a huge jackpot!

I do not care for this story,and I think these store owners are conveniently remembering the winner. My how claiming their winnings their memory comes back to them. They kept insisting weeks ago they had no clue who those guys who claimed it were.

remeber the lotter didnt pay, the punters paid, lottery takes a cut and reallocates the money. %5 to sellers, and $100k to the seller of the winning ticket, by the look.
