Very true. I'm sure millions of people buy a ticket and then says, This is the winning ticket. I'm going to win tonight. I remember a winner saying his grandmother told him if something sweet falls on you on your birthday, you're going to be lucky that day. Something sweet fell on him, he brought a scratch off ticket and won. Now, I'm sure millions also had sweets fall on them on their birthday and they didn't win anything.

According to other articles I've read Brake Duke developed a strategy where he picked 20 or so numbers to play and once he started getting some small wins regularly he was sure he would eventually win a jackpot. I can't imagine him abandoning that strategy after winning a jackpot if his goal was to a billionaire and yet I haven't heard of him winning another major lottery prize since. Millions of people request a jackpot 'from the universe' or convince themselves the next winner, but when it comes to lotto there are very few winners, if any, for any given draw.

Brad Duke does it and wins, then everyone wants it to happen to them. It would be nice if it worked that way, but it just doesn't. Justt think if it did, and then some night a jackpot was split 2,323,500 ways. That would be one heck of a reaction by the winners.

I've never wondered about the ethnicity of jackpot winners, but when it was won in Idaho that was almost a given. The same is true if the winning ticket was sold in Chinatown. Other than the fact Idaho is proportionally more white than Washington D.C., we'll probably never see Hawkeye's evidence that either is more racist.

My mother says the same thing everyday and she still has not won. Every time I feel tonight is going to to be that night, nothing happens. I have had many dreams that I've won, but the next day, it was nothing. Hell, I thought 2011 was going to be our lucky year. I have even taken mistake tickets. I've given it some thought actually. With all the horror stories you hear about some of these wealth mgt. firms (Bernie Madoff ), I would really have to do my homework on deciding which firms had the integrity and experience, before just handing over all that dough.

Something is not right about that statement.

Whether the lottery IS or isn't rigged, it looks as though

most big winners are white and from certain parts of the country.

The Idaho Lottery Commission had a promo event at the store he purchased his ticket at during this last Powerball run. They had a meet and greet with Brad, and a special like buy 5 get 1 free or something.

I didn't go, I'm sure it was crowded, and far away enough that I'd have had to drive, so not worth it to me to save a buck or whatever the promo was.

I do know lots of people still go to that store for their tickets, thinking it's lucky. IIRC, there was a $20 or $30 million winner sold a... [ More ]

I am but a humble servant of the LP forum. I appreciate that my suggestion may have practical merits.

I for one, will stop playing the lottery this instant. In fact the tickets that I already picked up for tonight's drawing, are going back to the convenience store clerk, where I will instruct him to give to any non-white person who appears to need a little assistance in life.
