Its hard to offer protection from the drug cartels...especially if the drug cartels are using American Military hardware...I wouldn't be surprised if the drug cartels were behind this scheme...

What would surprise me the most is if this was the first time this has happened in Mexico.

The police and the army can't protect anybody from the drug cartels.

If they wanted to win the jackpot, I'm sure someone would facilitate that for them.

The scam was detected by a PAP manager who noticed that the prize was claimed by relatives of Just Marketing executives and employees, according to the newspaper's account.

Now if they could just convince those senior lottery executives, to wear those new hard wired brain contraptions that Boner was alluding to,

they could all be brainwashed, or have their memories erased just after the lottery drawing. Problem solved!

Twelve people, including four public employees, are accused of attempting to embezzle 160 million pesos ($12.1 million) from Mexico's national lottery, authorities said.

Around $8 million of the money has been recovered, the Attorney General's Office and several other federal agencies said in a joint statement.

The announcement followed a front-page story in capital daily Reforma that revealed some details of the scheme to rig the Jan. 22 drawing.
