Connecticut has jumped on the raffle bandwagon too.

They've been running a SuperDraw twice a year since 1/1/2011. Second draw of each year is held on The 4th of July. Each drawing has a guaranteed top prize winner of 1 million dollars.

Tickets are 10 dollars each, a max of 275,000 are sold. If tickets dont sell out, and they didnt sell out for one of the drawings, then they draw from however many tickets do sell.

Top prize is $1,000,000 with lower tier prizes as well.

I'm definitely buying a few of these. They've been having these New Year's raffles for a few years and they definitely seem to have the best odd. I dont remember them doing it like this last year though where they had multiple millionaires and all kinds of add'l secondary winners as well. I mean the odds are pretty great even though it is a $20 ticket!

New York has done raffles in the past but I havent seen any for quite a while now.

I wish The State of New York was as innovative as Florida appears to be. If they can sell 'em out in Florida, they can sell 'em out in New York. Florida's population is 18 million (4th largest state) New York's is 19 million, which is 3rd.

We have a raffle in MA that guarantees one winner half of the sales, with minimum payout of $500,000. Other prizes include a draw every wednesday from Nov 7 to the D-day in which 5 people will win $1,000. hahaha the guys who run MA lottery can't seem to get it. All their raffles have been failures because they try things without much research NOT interested

PA VA raffles are the best, 4 instant millionaires and many other small prizes on the D-Day. No gimmicks, no spices.
