Most financial advisers work on a pre-set fee and do not make as much money as you would think. On the other hand, money/fund managers are the ones who get paid the big bucks as they get a percentage based on assets under management as well as a cut of the overall gains.

9pm in NY, the latest for any state is 10pm.

Mega millions cut off though in NY is 10:45 for an 11:00 draw, go figure.

I just emailed this to lottery post, so they can correct the time frame -

Early Sunday morning, just after midnight Eastern Time, USA Mega announced the new record Powerball jackpot of $425 million after nobody won in the Saturday evening drawing. Now, just 36 hours later, the jackpot estimate for Wednesday's Powerball drawing has been raised to $500 million, with a lump-sum cash option of $327.4 million.

That should be 60 hours later, not 36 hours later.

If it were to go up to 600, with last drawing being at 325, that's a jump of nearly 100%. Then if it rolls, this Saturday it would be at more than 1 Billion dollars.

Odds are that it won't roll though with the majority of all possible combinations of numbers being played by tomorrow night. Sure it could happen, but odds are against another roll.

I agree completely. Regardless of the jackpot amount, I always get only 1 set of QP numbers. I've also been in several office pools with 100 or more sets of tickets and the most that was ever won back was less than 10% of money invested. At about 175 million combinations of numbers, buying 10,000 sets of numbers covers less than 1/10th of 1% of the numbers.

I purchased my tickets this morning before the increase. While in the car, I was listening to a local radio morning show and of course they were talking about the PB jackpot. The hosts were listing items that you can buy for $1(burger from McDonalds, a pack of gum, etc.) and then he said you can buy a PB ticket for $1. The $425 million thread took 2.5 days to reach 423 replies, or about seven per hour.

But that rate wouldn't hold true if it were bumped up, because of the added media hype.

Would probably average more like fifteen replies per hour.

I picked three sets of numbers. One set I have been using for awhile and then two sets are from the lottery post quick pick generator. Then I QPed three sets of numbers. So 50/50 on the sets picked and I think that is a good amount of numbers. Hoping for the big time!-weshar75
