Money earned is treated a lot differently by people than money won. Sure he had underlying issues but after his win the guy pretty much went out of control when he thought it allowed him to do whatever he wanted. Jack is an excellent example of not letting a big win like that go to your head. But yes, if that was money he actually made from his businesses things would have likely been very different.

But she wasn't given that kinda of cash before Jack won. He won the PB and he just went haywire. This was a man who was already rich and over 50! Look at people like Chris Shaw ($258m on PB), Holly Lahti ($190m on MM) and Neal Wanless ($232m on PB). The three are doing great today and given their backgrounds, I think many assumed they would have problems.

Yea power issues have been common here the last several years. After the last fiasco, I focused on getting emergency supplies like a camping stove, little camping pots, even an outdoor coffee pot, small propane tanks, water storage, solar charger for cell phone, etc. Money is useless here (too many people) since everyone is on the roads looking for some place open (and living near the Pentagon we are all supposed to be ready to shelter in place. ) I could not even get onto the main road last tim...
