How about just have a contest of logo designs with the locals. They can use the money that is intended for the fee of the logo designer as the prize. I think the locals will appreciate it more, they can also use it as a marketing to attract other players.

I always wanted to design some sort of lottery game ticket. They do not do calls for submissions (like typical artist calls for submissions where the results are juried) because they would have to pay the artist royalties for the life of the product (license the work) and the copyright/ownership would remain with the artist.

I know, right?!?!? Don't they know that their neighbor's girlfriend's brother would do it for free!?!? Who in their right mind would ever hire someone else to make them a logo!?!? Oh wait - people actually do that.

as for the logo just stick a horse on it and nobody will know the difference. they have it on every other thing up here why should this be any different. i can guarantee you it will have a horse on it.

Let me know if the horse is reared up and has Dick Cheney on it waving a cowboy hat. That's proprietary.

right now i live in wyoming but hope to change that soon and i will not play the lottery when they finally get it for a couple of reasons.

1. because when they said they would have the lottery ready by the first of jan 2013. it turned out they only meant they were only getting it not selling it like they said.

2. then they said they would have it by june 2013 but what they really meant was that they would only have a committee set up.

they need to go all out on their vending machines and get the latest and the greatest which dispense scratch tickets but also daily numbers, powerball, mega, and any other drawing game that they have. ma just got 7 of them distributed throughout the state on a trial run and they are getting rave reviews. but knowing wyoming they won't spend the extra to get them.

OMG! They need to send out for bids for companies to come up with a logo? They can't do that themselves? Or come up with ways for submissions?

Bad sign already.

I said it before that their biggest decision is the logo design. Not that it's that critical, as if people are gonna say, hey, I don't like the look of the logo, I'm not gonna play Powerball. Uh...no, the logo ain't that big of a deal. It ain't s'pposed to be this hard. Just do it, geez.

I was going to suggest a logo with Dick Cheney on a horse standing on it's hind legs waving a cowboy hat in the air.

The Wyoming Lottery Corporation wants an in-state company to design its new logo.

The lottery board and the corporation's first CEO, Jon Clontz, sent letters of interest to nine companies around the state, asking them to pen the trademark for all of the state lottery's games of chance set to hit stores in mid-2014.

The board will make a decision in the coming weeks on which firm will get the job.
