Did they already pursue the privitization? I wonder what advantage will it bring them over privitization. Too many consultants will just bring conflict, I agree it is just a waste of money. It is better to give the budget to the fund for senior citizens instead of paying lucrative fee of those consultants.

McCord looks at what the $3 million spent to date on consultants would otherwise have bought for senior citizens 428,571 meals through Area Agencies on Aging and senior centers, 151,975 prescriptions, or 6,380 property tax and rent rebates to seniors.

Thought the Lottery was created to fund schools. For a State that's broke, they sure know how to waste millions.

Maybe they should hire some more lawyers.

They probably need more coordinators or something like that, you know how it is. Lawyers are good at that stuff.

And the lawyers will need to hire a lot more staff and that's always good for the economy.

So it's a win/win all the way around. More lawyers.

Treasurer Rob McCord urges Corbett to drop the idea

The price tag for exploring Gov. Tom Corbett's idea for outsourcing management of the Pennsylvania Lottery has crossed the $4 million threshold and is marching toward the $5 million mark.

Recent revisions to the contract with the administration's outside legal advisers, DLA Piper, alone now allow it to be paid as much as $3.4 million.
