News reports from Minnesota indicate that already on the first day (Tuesday) 7 people won the $1,000 second prize, and the game paid out 90 percent of its sales for that day. Not bad for players

I'm sure if the game was generating healthy profits it would still be intact. Lotteries are in the business of running popular games in order to generate profits for the state. If a game is not popular, it will likely be canceled.

Not sure why Iowa cancelled their Cash 5 game. Are they downsizing or the lottery is disfavored there?

In TX, IL and MN the All or Nothing type game was in addition to their Cash 5 and other existing lotto games.

As for why someone would play, to me it's kind of like a Scratch game payouts in an online game: You get better overall odds of 1 in 4.5 and total payout of 60% which is better than most lotto games. And it has a lot more prize tiers, 12, compared to typically 3 or 4 like lotto ga... [ More ]

I was curious why someone would play this new game with horrible odds if they lived in Iowa and could play Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game which was a daily game and top prize odds were about 6 times better. So I went to Iowa lottery website and saw to my disbelief that they stopped offering Cash 5 in Jan 25, 2014. Below were the odds of the discontinued Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game. This games stinks.

The Illinois version is called Hit or Miss and it's a $2 ticket with 4 drawings a day.

The most common result is you have 5, 6, or 7 hits which pays nothing, but on the bsck of the playslip it makes it look like everything pays, they omit 5, 6, or 7 hits in the pay chart.

To make it simple, I track it with a make believe ticket of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 19, 20, 21 2, 23, 24.

(You can use any set of 12 numbers and track it and get the same results.)

Well....only $1 a tic. Jackpot is only $100000. Texas is $2 a tic, but the jackpot is $250000.

I watch this game and have some pet numbers I watch, but I rarely play it anymore.

The Minnesota and Iowa state lotteries have unveiled a new two-state game in which players win the prize by matching all of the numbers or none of them.

In the new game, called All or Nothing, players choose 12 numbers from a pool of 24. There are 10 different ways to win prizes by matching various numbers, but the top prize of $100,000 is won by matching either all the numbers drawn or none of them.
