Every time I hear about a store owner winning big on a lottery ticket that was bought at their store, red flags goes up. The store owner could have obtained that ticket supposititiously by spurious means. There shoud be a rule in the lottery that states owners of stores that sells lottery tickets would be precluded from buying lottery tickets at their store.

No law or contractual agreement with the lottery against a retailer playing the lottery. The business entity that is listed as the retailer that sold the ticket is certainly entitled to any lottery bonus that goes along with that winning ticket. If she is sole owner of the store, then essentially she would get the bonus, which I think she should.

When Glinda Salgado heard that the winner of a $1 million Mega Millions lottery ticket purchased it at her family store in Herndon, she was excited.

She never imagined it was her own ticket.

The drawing, held on March 14, revealed that a winning ticket was sold at her store, Elden Market Deli but nearly two weeks went by with no winner coming forward.

Then, Salgado realized she hadn't checked her own ticket and discovered the winner was actually herself.
