Funny if I were him I would've done the same thing.

So far I have'nt won the jackpot of anything yet so I figured I would buy the tickets but in my mind somewhere I think I'm not gonna win the jackpot anyway. Or maybe I just keep forgeting about the tickets cause I buy them so many times before that i don;t pay much attention to them.

I have a routine when it comes to checking my tickets. most of us know when the numbers are drawn.I check if Iam not a winner, I check again in the morning on the lottery web site. Then I ditch the ticket,an live for another dollar or two dollars an a dream. Good luck everyone.

Good for Jerry. Wanna bet he keeps his shop open for himself and his son. The high cost of living in Long Island NY and having $2.9 before taxes is not enough to close up shop and retire.

One NJ Pick six winner won a $6M jackpot and just expanded his business instead of retiring.

I don't understand people who toss their tickets around or don't keep track of them. They could be worth thousands or millions at some point. I'm not surprised that so many winning tickets go unclaimed when you keep reading stories like this.

But he was one of the lucky ones who found it before it was thrown away or expired. So congrats to him for finding it and hopefully it does a lot of good for him and his family.

A Long Island auto body shop owner just found out that he has been driving around with nearly $3 million in his truck.

Jerry Ritieni bought $20 worth of lottery tickets July 19, but instead of putting them in his pocket as he normally does, he shoved them into the center console and forgot all about them.

A month later, he was fishing around in his truck to find the keys to his Vermont home and found the Lotto tickets collecting dust.
