I've spent $9 on this game since the change, less than 1/3 what I used to spend playing it every day.

Only play when the JP is over 250G, and I was at the store for other reasons.

Over 350g and I made the trip just to get a ticket.

Initially the JP seemed to grow fast and get hit fast, now seems to drag a little,

I wonder if the new players that were attracted to the new starting JP are getting bored.

no winner, but I only risked a buck this week,

I would play 7 days a week on the 5/40 game and not even get 2/5

The payout for PK 5 for 9/19 /14 is showing $267,134 for getting 5 out of 5 with two winners.

Was proven wrong once again, when thinking the extra three digits would make it harder to hit.

Those winning numbers were 05-08-16-28-29.

And getting 3 out of 5 does not guarantee getting a payout of $15.00. It only paid out $12.00 last night.

Now it's back to a $75g starting JP, I won't play until it's at least $250g or so.

The state's site lists the JP winner at $267,134 there must have been 2 winners, the Jp was 499g thanks Gleno

So you see a $50g JP was enough for my dollar in a 5/40 game, but $75g is not enough in a 5/43 game.

But I won't get one unless I make a trip to the store for something else.

I went to buy new rollers for the sliding door screen, but the hardware store don't sell lottery.

cause you know... it's always those players that buy on a whim...well seems like that.

Just because they added more numbers don't mean you have to play them

Keep the odds in your favor take out certain numbers and you increase you game already the reason i say this is because i read what a guy said online he has won 3 jackpots already and many many smaller prizes i think he knows what he talking about

The larger starting jackpot had to have something different with three additional numbers added to make it in reality a new game. Now we have 1-43 instead of 1-40. Just more birthday numbers and mirror combinations to pick from in the end.

On the TxCash 5 game a person who wins the jackpot gets:

OK, this is the straw that broke the camel's back.

Been playing the same #set for over 10 years and was afraid to miss a draw, never had more then 4/5

Those in the gambling industry consider the only things that can be beat in the long run are poker and sports betting.

People that get clobbered constantly on sports are usually making 'heart bets' - favorite teams, home teams, etc.....

To win at sports you have to do better than 52.6% winners to overcome the vigorish.

People go nuts betting football where you lay 11 to win 10 and have to overcome the pointspread. In baseball all you have to do is pick the winne... [ More ]

Just like what Illinois recently did. It takes forever to build up jackpots as there is really no extra money put into the pools. Just means less winners per year. If the payout has in fact decreased then NJ just hasn't learned. There are though two good things about New Jersey. They will soon have sports betting. That is a game that is truly beatable opposed to the lottery unless you are paying 100% + payback games betting into big carryovers. They also will have at the Meadowland HI 5 jackpot... [ More ]

Of course bigger jackpot is better but a bigger pool of combinations isn't better. I don't call a $25K increase bigger when they also decrease the odds of winning by more than 300,000! I've done the math on this and in no way does it benefit the player. The overall payout is actually LESS now.

They could've easily raised the prize minimum without changing the matrix. Basically they're just finding an excuse to screw players.

If you make the game harder to win by increasing the number field there will always be more opportunities to win bigger jackpots. Why? Fewer winners equal more and bigger jackpots. DUH!!!

New Jersey, you are not doing anything to help the players with this.

It makes no sense whatsoever. It ruined pa cash 5. Jackpot routinely goes to 300-600k. 4/5 payout is a nice 400-600 not like pa 200-300? They are ruining a great game for players!!! Contact them and tell them people

I agree its makes no sense. The jackpot routinely goes to 200-400K It ruined cash 5 in pa. Nj has a very nice 4/5 payout 400-600 not like pa 200.If the 3/5 xtra takes that down then the game is ruined. Speak up people

Oh, you want an extra $25K to start? That'll cost you an increase of nearly 300,000 possible combinations.

It might make the game roll longer but this is no benefit to the player at all.

Starting Sunday, Jersey Cash 5 players will see game changes that will result in larger estimated starting jackpots, more opportunities to win bigger jackpots, and increases in the average match-3 prize paid all for the same $1 ticket price.

In response to player demand for bigger jackpots, the New Jersey Lottery raised the Jersey Cash 5 estimated minimum jackpot from $50,000 to $75,000. Match-3 average prize paid will increase from $11 to $15.
