$2 ticket cost creates $100M jackpots more often. Bigger jackpots generate more sales.

If they put PB back to $1 I think sales would increase again.

The year isn't over yet, but the 41% deficit is pretty accurate.

Base sales in 2013 were close to $5.4 billion. Of course, it also had sixteen $200+ million jackpots.

So far we are at $3.2 billion base for 2014. A record jackpot run could push it over $4 billion but it won't top 2013.

Needless to say they aren't going to tolerate this for long. Change is coming for 2015 but I still haven't figured out exactly when yet.

By early next fall the Kentucky Lottery expects to make the sale of tickets for at least some games available through the use of computers, smart phones and other mobile devices.

The Kentucky Lottery Corp. directors took a major step toward online ticket sales at a meeting Friday by choosing to negotiate with GTECH to develop the computer-based system for what is being called iLottery services and games.
