Probably not, probably somewhere complaining about never winning anything.

Some people buy lottery ticket expecting to win the jackpot and if they don't hear someone local won big they hardly ever check them figuring the most they'll lose is a couple of dollars which isn't worth the bother.

When I take my winners in to be cash the clerks say what I won in tone of voice which convey a thought you only won a dollar or two, why did you have me bother to check? but I never asked them to check... [ More ]

I've had that happen a couple times. I contacted a store clerk who opened the machine up and got it out for me. If the buyer didn't have time or just didn't want to bother, it could happen that someone servicing the machine could have just thrown it out.

The lottery dept does not get the money. In Michigan if a lottery prize goes unclaimed, the money then goes to the school aid fund for public education.

I wonder if it was purchased from a machine. I've found a few tickets that didn't slide all the way out and you couldn't see them unless you bent down and looked under.

I hope this person find this ticket before the time runs out. Since it was purchase at a drug store they could just ran in just to pick up something quick for them or some one else. They have forgotten it.

Thank goodness we've got a watchdog like you to keep an eye out on the lotteries, to make sure they're not doing anything underhanded. If nobody was paying attention they could keep the money from millions of tickets that never existed. That could add up to an enormous amount of imaginary money.

How do we know if such ticket ever existed? The lottery could say there is a winning ticket, and when no one shows up to claim it in the claim period, they keep the money.

Just two weeks remain for the lucky Michigan winner of a $1 million Mega Millions prize to come forward and claim the big prize.

It has been 11 months since one lucky ticket matched the first five numbers 25, 28, 36, 45, and 53 in the Aug. 5, 2014 Mega Millions drawing to win $1 million. The Lottery has yet to hear from the lucky winner.

The winning ticket was purchased at the CVS Pharmacy, located at 727 28th Street Southeast in Grand Rapids.
