Interesting that the demographic needs to be 'older players' to make the top of the list. If I am ever in the area I might have to stop in.

i don't think that they regard this place as a lucky store. it's a high volume well run place that lures local (mostly) clientele. it stands to reason that the more tickets sold will produce the most winners. people wouldn't flock to this place just because of a powerball or MM hit. doubt very much that a record breaking jackpot would be purchased here. no such thing as a lucky store especially if you fill out cards which will yield the same result wherever you plug them in. quic pics not so sur... I can't imagine what a record breaking jackpot would look like at Mr.Patel's store. Oh, the stories that would be told if the winner purchased the ticket there. Good Luck to all

Good idea in theory, but lets hope it doesn't make this place a target for crazies knowing that they'll have this kind of cash on hand...

*Edit- looks like they've been doing this since 2008 with no problems...

the good patels outnumber the bad ones. there are so many you couldn't count them. this guy decided to transform his store into a full service lottery gathering place rather than sell outdated shelf merchandise. getting permission to cash up to 5000.00 tickets obviously made this place take off.

The regulars at the Soda Pop Shop Mart had heard the story before how Bill Jenkins accidentally played the same set of Keno numbers twice in 2012, leaving him with two $10,000 winning tickets instead of one.

So there were knowing smiles inside the Catonsville convenience store last week as the retired truck driver recounted how the terminal initially seemed to reject the first $10 ticket, prompting him to select the eight charmed numbers again.
