It's the odds that matter, not how many lines you get to play. The odds for 6/59 are roughly 1 in 45 million, so getting two lines gives you odds of 1 in 22.5 million for that $1 bet. Much better odds than MM or PB, but the jackpot is usually fairly modest. The odds for 2nd place are 1 in 3.75 million, which is only slightly better than PB before the recent change, but the prize starts at only 20 to 25k. Great for Richard Loveless and his family on hitting the lottery. This article is so interesting for many reasons. How his circle of friends also seemed to have good luck is quite odds defying. I also wonder if he played this same line of numbers consistently or if he tried them for this draw. Either way, love to hear stories of the humble winning. I am so tired of the train wreck sorts we see on reality shows...money never seems to do them any good. Wish all the best to the Loveless family.

Too me, being a blue collar worker , is all about attitude, not the job you are doing. Living and loving life is another trait. He fits the description to a tee .

Good for him on his win! And I don't see anything wrong with blue collar work... a lot of blue collars right out of trade school are making almost double than what a lot of entry-mid level white collar jobs are paying new graduates now a days.

If I won that much I wouldn't be worrying about the color of my collar, I'll be too busy enjoying life and spending my coins on things that matters to me

You clearly aren't familiar with NY lotto. It's a 6/59 game, and you get to play 2 lines for $1. Since you've got to pick 6 numbers the chance of winning the jackpot if the winning combination is all birthday numbers is only 5 times better than the chance of winning the MM jackpot. That means that even though the winning combination was all birthday numbers it's not as much of an advantage as that would be for MM.... [ More ]

Great news for Richard Loveless, with his huge windfall he can continue to be a blue collar worker

and even start his own Co. and help other blue collar workers.

See he is getting $19M after taxes! That's a big tax hit and he can do whatever his heart desires.

Richard Loveless was going through his usual Sunday routine on Oct. 18 when he learned that a winning $42.5 million Lotto ticket was sold the day before at the Pit Stop convenience store the same business where he purchases his Lotto tickets.

When the retired electrician from Port Byron checked the winning numbers 1, 9, 11, 16, 19, 22 he was stunned.

He won the lottery.
