As we all know here, if the winner decides to take the whole jackpot, the Feds take 50% of the winnings and then tax the rest. Is there a tax on the Canadian lottery? I thought that the maximum a person could win in Canada was $50 million.

Lotteries are a cash cow where the real winner is the government in America. If Bernie gets elected all lottery winners will be taxed at a rate of 99.9%.

A Mississauga, Ontario, woman has won what is being called the largest jackpot ever in the history of Canadian lottery.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. says Zhe Wang held the single winning ticket for its $64 million jackpot.

According to the OLG, she has chosen not to share any details of the win or what she plans to do with the money.

The OLG says the ticket was from the Oct. 17 Lotto 6/49 draw and was bought at a Petro Canada in Mississauga. The winning numbers from that drawing... [ More ]
