I have friends living in NC that used to play scratch tickets all the time until they noticed on the Lucke Zone board that most of the big winners come from south of I-40 in other words Statesville, Charlotte, Salisbury, Mooresville, Kannapolis, Gastonia and east of I-95 area like the Outer Banks area. There were not many big winners in the northern and western parts of the state like Mt.Airy, Boone or Wilkesboro.

Some clerks or store owners steal winning tickets from customers, telling the players they didn't win. Then, they or someone else claim the prize.

This goes on everywhere.

I agree, for those who think that NC is a great place to win, if you could take a look at their Lucke Zone forum loaded with complaints from players buying up to 10 tickets in a row, and if they are lucky, maybe getting a break even win, or just a little more, you might reconsider and this is with $10, $20, and $30 tickets also.

IDK? but I do Know 1 thing when it comes too scratch offs I can't afford to pay $20 or$30 for a ticket, that's just crazy! It's strange though I was thinking the other day that their sure a lot of winners in N.C! If I could get to NC I would go their to buy my Lottery Tickets

Yes, I agree, NCEL needs to be investigated more. Especially the practice of ending scratch off games that still have 2nd and 3rd top prizes. If an outsider would do an audit on just the past 3-4 years for example, it might be eye opening to see how many games that were still popular, and good seller's that were pulled. If Alice and company were smart, they would keep their OWN heads down as THEY are the ones that need to be investigated for lottery rigging. It has ONLY gotten worse in the past 6 mos and WILL only get worse for us players.

Her first win was Texas Lotto. Can't remember the amount, but it was a few million dollars. Then she went to work on scratchers using won money to buy lots of tickets.

Joan Ginther is the woman in Texas who has won the lottery multiple times. There are numerous articles on her here at Lottery Post. Some say it is fraud, others dumb luck. And still others say that the fact that she has a PhD in Stats, plays a lot and uses publicly available info to hedge her bets has made her a multiple winner.

Store owners do that too. You can find anyone in any state willing to cash a winning straight win4 ticket for a percentage. The percentage varies etc

People are cashing other peoples' winning tickets for them because the actual winner has a lien against them. They then receive a cut of the payout and the true winner receives the rest.

Ok guys, I shouldn't be gossiping but I did hear once from someone who worked in the 'building' ok, when I was cashing a $1000 scratch off. That the $20 ones in the machines have better luck than the ones in the store. I also have heard that, of course not all the time, but every 3 starting from the #1 on the $20's are better. The odds for getting one specific number remain the same. Those odds are not the same odds for getting a second specific number. The Lottery Commissions goal is to regulate, maintain, and control statistical randomness , so that it remains as such. Meaning random. The point is repetition happens more than one would normally think it does.

Jose' just won on a scratch off, but Jose' can't cash it because he is down here illegally for the summer months to work for cash only. So Jose' is going to need somebody to go to Raleigh to cash his ticket for him. Get my point ? It happens all the time.

There was a woman in Texas who won a lot of $$$ on scratchers. But she had a legitimate system. One, she bought a lot of them and two, she only bought certain ones at certain times. She did everything to increase her chances of winning and she deducted her loses as a tax writeoff. But they harassed her, too.

There mosr certainly is cheating going on and it is makin me think twice on buying scratchers. First thing is what they are suspecting..people do advertise on Craigs list to offer to buy winning tickets at a discount for the winner to avoid either taxes or child support or whatever.. The big guys, the millionairs who want to win that big prize.. They could either be in the US or over seas..with people in the US working for them.. I want to hear a statistician's take on how a 3 digit number regardless of the order can come out 3 times in a single month whereas other numbers don't come out for 4 or 5 years at a time ... the players aren't the ones that need investigating. Yes, NCEL, I'm talking to you.

the fact that statistics can not define the logic in this, only further

proves my point that I have been making since I joined this site.

the lottery is not random, and statistical odds never tell the entire story.

The people who study this stuff should be studying why the states went to the RNG numbering system from the ball system and leave the little people alone! There use to be way more winners using the ball system....stand up and be counted
