Maybe those monks can invest now in a authentic brewery to make nice money. They again can give back that money to the community. Another idea would be that they cultivate fruit trees and vegetables, keep chickens like they did hundreds of years ago. At least some monasteries were like that. ...

I believe in these types of safety nets. You never know who you are helping today and who will turn out to be a superstar in society. People who have fallen on hard times unexpectedly. Authors, inventors, single parents.

This gift will keep on going. The IRS does not get a cut now but will when these potential millionaires start winning and earning.

You could call it a Christmas miracle. Somebody won a $100,000 lottery ticket and instead of cashing it in themselves, they handed it over to a church for a higher use.

A donor gave the lottery winnings to Saint Anthony' Shrine, the same church that was robbed earlier in December. The money will go toward feeding and providing community outreach services to the less fortunate and homeless, Father Thomas Conway said.
