Illogical and more than a little ridiculous. The only person entitled to the winnings is the person who bought the ticket and/or claimed the prize. Touching, holding or even photo bombing the ticket doesn't prove ownership or entitlement. If that's all it took for someone to get swindled out of his/her total winnings, people would cease to play and courts would be jam packed with claimants wanting $$ just because they held a ticket for a hot minute. That's why no one was arrested. The whole thing just sounded dumb and careless. Why buy a lottery ticket for an upcoming drawing if you're going to forget about it?

the jury should have awarded all 3 of them (or however many people touched or took a picture of the ticket) equal share of the money regardless of who bought it.

I agree, where are the consequences for the woman's actions, this is insane. How much more time and effort was spent because of her false claim and she just walks away? I will assume she will be highly embarrassed, lose friends and business contacts or the least be fired due to her actions. Well at least that SHOULD be the result.

Show your ticket to the lottery claim office when you cash it in. Don't trust people.

The woman should have been fined or something for attempting to steal lottery winnings.

At least someone checked for him. There are many players who never have their tickets checked at all.

Bizarre how people spend money on lottery tickets and never bother looking at them again. Personally, I can't understand it. Many players have little to no sense of what the odds are, the various payouts, or even how to check their tickets. I'm sorry but I can't believe that people still don't check their own tickets. Whether or not Larry was Savvy with the computer has no bearing on the fact that he could use his phone to check a website. Or get someone else to check in front of him. I'm sorry but I'm not handing my ticket to anyone to check it.

Hope he works for a different auto shop or better yet that one fired her for lying. Guess dollar bills went off when she had the picture taken with him and the winning lottery ticket.
