I think I remember over a decade ago when there was no self-checking machines to know if I won, and I may have been a victim of theft/cheating from a store clerk. Here's what I can remember; I had asked the store clerk to check my bonus match 5 ticket and he had that look on his face and asked me urgently how much do you think you won? I am not worried about ticket cashers, tax evaders or money launderers (which does not affect my chances to win), but I am concerned about theft/cheating from store owners (which does).

Discounting is my vote. As long as the Lottery is making a profit than they will not rock the boat, so to speak.

Ummmm. Just sitting here thinking Mr. Stark would have serious problems dealing with me. I am constantly amazed at how pidgeonholed some people are. For anyone who refuses to see or simply cannot, you have my blessing to keep your head in the sandbox. Understand I am not saying there is not illegal activity going on. I am saying to routinely make suspicious multiple wins because, well, no one could possibly be that lucky is clearly the portrait of someone not aware of the whole picture.

It is not a hypothesis that vendors cash winning tickets over $600 at a discounted price. It is a fact. First of all.

Yes, that is what it is!

The lotteries already have a huge house advantage, what else do they want?

The lottery games are made in such a way that the players won't make a profit except for the very few who win big lottery jackpots.

Those many who win that they speak about are relatively very few people and in reality they don't win very often.

The states should not cry so much about a few people winning, all or most of those who win do spend lots and lots of money buying lottery tick... [ More ]

On, Dec. 29, 2016, Clarance Jones did something that most Americans could scarcely imagine: He cashed-in 20 winning scratch-off tickets, collectively worth $21,000, one after the other.

For the average lottery player, that would be the ultimate payday. For Jones, it was practically routine.

In the past six years, the 79-year-old from Lynn, Mass., has won more than 7,300 lottery tickets, totaling $10.8 million. That establishes him, by far, as the luckiest lottery player in America.
