Leave it to politicians to always find a way. Pretty soon they may have a lottery terminal in Graceland, along with the other merchandise they sell there.

Ohio started cashless payments at Ohio Lottery Kiosks about a month ago. The Ohio Lottery also pays for the transaction fee that would normally be charged to the retailer. In Ohio it is a win-win situation. Ohio also plans on have cashless payments from behind the counter sales starting this coming summer.

At the Kiosks now, you have the choice or $10, $20, $50, or $100. But the max on one credit or debit card per day is $100.

In Kentucky some merchants will allow customers to use debit/credit cards to purchase lottery tickets, but it's not mandatory. From the merchants point of view it's not any different than having a minimum purchase amount. Some are as high $20 to use a credit/debit card.

Wonder whatever happened to our LP member who lived in the hills of Tennessee? Can't recall his LP name, parts of it, but not whole thing. He would certainly have something to say about this. Somehow I feel he might be looking @ the roots of the daisies.

I hope this bill passes in the House and is signed into law by the Governor.

I would think that this is what lottery players want.

With Tennessee being the home of John and Lisa Robinson from Munford, TN the legislature took notice of their record making winners. PB win on 1/13/2016 a Wednesday. Now go for a repeat

Do they realize that the merchants have to pay processing fees to tender non-cash forms of payments?

Credit card processing companies charge, on average, 2% - 3% for every credit or debit card processed and most banks charge a fee for every check or money order deposited.

A billed filed by Tennessee legislators would make it easier to purchase lottery tickets.

How many times have you wanted to get in on the latest Powerball craze only to realize once in line you don't have any cash?

Under current law, all lottery tickets can only be purchased in-person and only with cash.

SB 1996/HB 2057 is sponsored by Franklin's Republican Senator Jack Johnson and Republican Representative Charles Sargent.
