Chew on this bluedog101. Kentucky was part of those States affected by the Great Tornados back in 1974- every single one of those States, except Kentucky has had a jackpot winner. Those States found the glass slipper - perhaps Kentucky's destiny is 2nd place.

I was looking at the history of the jackpot winners this morning and observed that a year ago tonight that Eliberto Cantu of Lubbock, TX won a nice tidy sum of $177 Million. Hmmmmm ??? Anniversary???

I also took a gander further down that list from 2016 and saw that there was a winner in Oct (It Will By Me a Boat Trust) from Rockwall, TX. nice !!!

Since there has yet to be a jackpot winner from Texas in 2018, I am volunteering my services to make it 3 years in a row. After all............

The McDonald's story was crazy and sad.....

The problem with people who plan to deny they are winners,..denials cause more questions. I would simply say, are you nuts? Would I be wasting my time talking to you if I won a jp??? And if it was broached again I would suggest psychiatric help for their delusions. You need to be firm...not deny and say no, no, no, like a child who broke a vase. Turning the question back onto them is an old negotiation trick.

I am playing mega millions with my mom's boyfriend I bought $9 worth and he bought $15 worth. So we will split the cash three ways one third to Arthur and one third to mom and one third to me. So I think after taxes it should be $50 million here in Oregon that is plenty of money for me since I make about $22 grand a year. I can put money away for a rainy day and try my hand at investing some of it after I get debt free of course.-weshar75

I will discuss the amount needed and the time frame with my insurance agent.

Although the only case I have heard of is the one in Australia. A little boy was kidnapped and murdered there in the 1960's. After his father's lottery win was publicized.

How soon we forget. I cannot remember that famous flyer's name who's boy was kidnapped here in the U.S. This is not lottery related.

These cases do scream for Anonymity being a choice for a major jackpot winner.

Artist77, I will claim here in California by requesting minimal publicity. I have just watched an episode of Insight that dealt with con-artists. Dr. Phil did the same thing. The con-artists took advantage of lonely adults who visited dating websites.

There is no upside to going public with a win this size. You do not know who will see you and plan to cheat you out of your winnings.

The number 23 was both the Mega-number and one of the five drawn for that record making draw. I believe that the record jackpot reached $656 million.

Mirlande Wilson will be remembered for her deception. I would assume that she lost her job at McDonald's. She said that she hid the winning ticket inside the restaurant but later changed her story. That actually reminds me of the time some woman from Ohio cleveland suburbs claimed that she had also lost a ticket cant really remember the exact date but her step daughter lived across the street from me at the time. I was still a child so I had no idea what was actually going on nor did I understand the seriousness of her claiming to loose the ticket. What I do remember is that after the true winners came forward the family was super embarrassed.

I remember I was a new lp member when the Jackpot was that high 6 years ago. Crazy and entertaining times with Mirlande claiming she hid the ticket at McDonald's, etc. Still the best crazy lottery story and event ever! So many nuts were posting claiming they won that jp. Never since has a jp stirred up the crazies on that level.

The $1M winning ticket that was sold in IL was sold at a Shell station on the south side of Rochelle. That's only a block or so from where my grandparents lived for decades :) Ive been to that station dozens of times, even re-met one of my childhood friends there that I'd been out of contact with for like 10 years! Hopefully somebody in that neighborhood was the lucky winner and not a passer-by on the interstate

You know when you look at this list it's so weird to see that some annuities have a higher cash prize while being in itself a lower amount for instance the 2016 MM (#6 for Cash) has a lower annuity amount than the #9 2013 MM even though the 2013 was a whole 100M (annuity) greater. Anyways I believe this jackpot will see a winner for Friday in Maryland or Tuesday VA.
