Of course I'm tickled green over this.

IGT closed their Georgia customer assistance center. Rhode Island's stayed open.

Since IGT has the majority of the U.S.A. lottery servicing them, this is usually an 800 number. When you call it, it'll say, for instance here, 'Kentucky Lottery, how may I help you?' I usually say 'How are things in Rhode Island?' I can't say if all lotteries utilize IGT's service; there are a lot of local numbers in different states I've played.... [ More ]

IGT, the company that runs Rhode Island's electronic lottery systems, is the sole bidder for a contract to run the state's proposed foray into sports betting.

The Lottery issued a request for proposals on the sports betting contract last month and although 18 firms participated in a pre-bid conference on the contract, the Providence-based company formerly known as GTECH was the only one to submit a bid by last Friday's deadline, the R.I.
