to give the state's five casinos plenty of time to familiarize themselves with the various regulations outlined in the rules.

The five casinos will be running the sports books and not the lottery. Players won't be making large bets on sporting events at a mom and pops or a gas/convenience stores.

How many lottery directors really know the ins and outs of sports betting?

They'd be far better off recruiting established bookies.

State by state it's coming!

Read about folks who live in KY, but due to Geolocation the lottery thinks they're playing from a border state. Oh well, take a trip to the store and play lottery there. Only once did I have to have it reset when on-line purchasing first started, no problems since then.

The West Virginia Lottery Commission has set its rules for sports betting in the state, following an emergency meeting Thursday.

West Virginia Lottery Director Alan Larrick said the commission passed the sports betting rules, effective Thursday, to give the state's five casinos plenty of time to familiarize themselves with the various regulations outlined in the rules.
