Even if you're 50 the after-tax net on 400k probably isn't what you need to retire right away and that means you should probably invest (most of) the money towards retirement. Especially since you can invest some, or even all, of the money in a tax deferred retirement account that makes the 2k per month a much better deal compared to the difference between annuity and cash value of a real jackpot.

I do agree, yep. for some it's fine, any age imo, or younger yea,

as i do know my niece early 20-21 year old, says if she ever win, she goes,

Aunt Cassie, i am not doin' it that way. Things do HAPPEN and we might need it in the family for an emergency

so i want all of it up front/and or a friend of hers also passed away earlier in life (accident with a truck driving' drunk SMH)RIP Melissa a few years ago

I would also think that the one dollar ticket was fake and a joke.

Here I thought you were getting tickets of of Washington State.

Been over 20 years, but I used to get advanced plays in Florida too, never any #'s.

Had done the same next state over in Virginia, but it's not as close as I'd like, so just stick with here in KY, close by IN and up the road OH, but not all the the time. Of course letting my Season Tickets from home state of Massachusetts run their course until early 2019. Not renewing PB or MM there.

It is indeed the great state of Alaska that i reside. Although we don't have a lottery here I am part of a lottery pool that buys tickets out of Viriginia and I also have a friend that sends me tickets from Florida with advance drawings. In Florida you can play about to 52 drawings on the same ticket or 6 months at a time. Got 4 out of 6 numbers a few times but still trying to hit 6/6. Hopefully one day. Like the say You can't win if you don't play

I'm a bit confused by the state you say you're from! It says Ak, which means Alaska and they don't have a lottery.

Is it AR; Arkansas?

Not a fan of payouts over a lifetime per se, but in this case since she is so young I'd say she made the right decision.

Imagine starting life after graduation with a $2,000 a month head start. That's exactly what one Connecticut woman did.

22-year-old Anissa Dellaripa of South Windsor, Connectiucut, was given a $1 Win for Life Ticket for graduation and it paid off in a big way.

My dad often buys me scratch tickets for fun, Dellaripa told lottery officials. He gave me this one and said, 'Here, scratch it.' The ticket cost only a dollar.
