Yup! Many people think that a slot machine just sits there waiting for someone to hit spin while the machine already knows whether the next spin is going to win or lose. It doesn't. Slot machines generate random numbers constantly, probably a million times a second (computers are fast!), whether someone is playing or not. When you hit spin , the computer takes the last random number that was generated and looks it up in the paytable.

The awful thing to me is how many millions of folks don't know what RNG is and couldn't tell you a thing about them if you asked. Slot machines are RNG too. In Canada's Caesars they have an office there with a dissected slot machine. They specifically demonstrate an RNG and also tell you that when you are playing, in a bonus feature or jackpot, it never stops working generating more combinations.

A beleaguered lottery is where the ship is sinking, so the games can't pay off so often anymore. Anything beleaguered, has cash flow issues, so that's the issue with RNG, it's to stop the cash flow issues.

I live in CT... And although I don't play the Play 3, Play 4 or Cash 5 games... I do play the Lucky 4 Life game (Drawn in CT) and Classic Lotto game and If they switch to RNG, I will no longer buy those tickets...

And why in the world is it that you can't claim anonymous, but you can have RNG drawings, NOT TELEVISED?????!!!!!! That's oxymoronic! This state is pathetic!

Another New Years SUR PRIZE for the Connecticut lottery! Why are we bothering? The computers can be programmed any way they want them to go and if we don't see the drawing then do they actually do a drawing or just ask the computer what numbers benefit them the most

Were you working for GM back in the 1980s when they told their employees nothing had went into profit sharing that year but yet those at the top got millions in bonuses?

For a lottery, which face it makes obscene profits, to sweat the salaries of a very few people just proves the greed on the side of those who run the lottery.

Unfortunately most lottery players don't care too much about how drawings are conducted.

Connecticut is like a lot of states, most of its lottery revenues come scratchers rather than draw games. Their latest report showed 59.2% of revenue coming from scratchers. I don't think they care too much about drawing integrity.

They could save even more money on draw games by not using any equipment, instead just copy the results of other states' drawings from past years. Who would know... [ More ]

Every state in New England plus neighboring New York are all 100% ball drawings. If Connecticut switches to RNG's, my prediction is Ct. will see a big drop in lottery revenue and the other states will see an increase as Ct. players go elsewhere to play.
