You are correct in creating a trust before claiming. A Revocable Living Trust. That will not protect your assests. It directs where your wealth goes after you die.

For Asset Protection hire another lawyer.

Besides all of the above you will need more legal forms.

I think being that the winner was so young and probably didnt know his options very well, like considering getting an attorney before he claimed his prize, could have kept himself anonymous under creating a trust account to claim the prize under instead of his name.

The next step is to the Assembly Committee on State Affairs.

This reality shows what a sad state our Country is in. Criminals ruin it for the rest of us.

Each citizen has their own responsibility to live a decent and law-abiding life.

Iowa will probably never go anonymous because of Eddie Tipton.

A bill that would allow lottery winners to remain anonymous in Wisconsin will go before a State Assembly committee next week.

The privacy act was introduced by Speaker Robin Vos the same day that a Milwaukee-area man claimed a $768 million Powerball prize this spring. Voss says requiring winners to be identified opens them up to possible fraud and takes away their right to privacy.
