IDK of anyone who thinks six figures is a million. It is and always has been seven figures. 1,000,000 is seven figures and equals a million.

sam9009 you're understanding has been correct, so no need to change a thing. You may have also noticed that exacting folks use the terms: low, mid, or hi. (E.g., Her annual income is in the mid six figures of $610,000 ).

I don't know who said that: When someone refered to 6 figures they meant a million.

Ten raised to the sixth power is equal to one million or 1,000,000, which is a one followed by six zeros.
