It is beyond me why no one has won a 6/40 game for so long in Colorado?! In Australia, 6/45 is being won every week! Do they know how to play the lottery properly in Colorado ? I really wish I can buy them.

6+1 / 47! They could have stuck to 6+1 / 42. They aim the 6+1 / 49. Maybe nobody will win for a year. 5/6 - 751? That is a lousy payout for 5/6 but the lower prizes are finer.

Michigan and Massachusetts had a game like that too but mathematicians cracked it by purchasing a ridiculous number of tickets in time for when the jackpot reached the maximum of $2 million and would roll-down if the $2 million went unclaimed.

I agree, there is nothing wrong with allowing the jackpot to get bigger but it is also nice to have a game where there will be a 'must-winner as well. It would be nice to have a game like that in America as well.

The Colorado Lotto + has not been won since March 2021 - so that's 10 months. So what, it starts at $1,000,000 and is now $23,000,000. Let the jackpots grow instead of capping them and the lottery will be eventually won. Ireland is hopeless anyway being in Western Europe, so who cares. Their best export is their people which is why their 5 times as many in the US as in Ireland.

In Ireland the jackpot is capped, and once at that level it doesn't get bigger. It was capped at that level for weeks, so was missing the hype that US get due to the jackpot rising and more people playing. And given that the jackpot was not rising, and not more people were playing, the numbers of wagers made the game unlikely to be won. A not very well designed game .... In Ireland, the lottery operator can keep unclaimed prize money. Who was the stupid idiot that negotiated that contract? Unclaimed prize money should be used for the public good.

But remember, the odds of winning both PowerBall and Mega Millions are extremely high, it can put people off.

A lot of people in the UK (Where I m from) we re not happy when it went up to 59 numbers in 2015.

I see nothing wrong with allowing the jackpot to get bigger. In America it takes a lot of rollovers to get a large jackpot and no one complains about a huge jackpot.

If I played the Ireland Lotto game, this is the drawing I would pull out the stops for.

Assuming nobody hits all 6 numbers and the prize gets awarded to the second-prize winner(s), that gives a 1 in 1.8 million odds of winning up to 19.06 million (US$21.81 million). Compared to the normal odds of winning the jackpot, which are 1 in 10.7 million.

They should ve kept the jackpot rolling over the past three months and then more players would play for the jackpot and it would have been more likely to have finally been cleaned out.

The must win drawing is a fantastic idea. Now when they say someone has to win they really mean it. Endless rollovers can be very annoying. After a certain amount of time it's always good to see the joyful face of a lucky winner. Good job Ireland.
