The last time we saw a billion dollar jackpot (1/26/21) advertising 625 sold almost exactly the same number of tickets as this run sold at 630/660. It rolled to 750, 825 and 1.05 billion. The current higher annuity:cash ratio would make that progression about 782 and 875.

There's no way this one gets to 900 without another roll unless people get a lot more enthusiastic than they were 18 months ago.

That page is probably going to updated with a higher jackpot amount (maybe $800 million or more) because they still haven't updated the cash value to $388 million. As we know , the annuity is calculated from the cash value, not the other way around.

If it rolls it starts at 790, or 464.4 cash if the ratio stays the same. That would be the 4th largest annuity, with about zero chance of moving up to #3 $1.05 billion) without a roll.

It would start as the #9 cash value, with a pretty good chance of moving up. The same 30 million bump we got for this one would push it to 481.8, barely passing the current #6.

Weirdly, the cash value was just upped to $388 million (11th-largest US cash value in history), but the annuity did not change ( $660 million ).

So, more ticket sales are happening than expected, but I suppose interest rates (used to calculate the annuity) went down a bit.

Picture this. He has a group of 50 people only spending $2 each. The odds of the group winning the jackpot is around 1 in 6 million. Their cash share of the jackpot can be as much as $7.6 million each.

A good test to see just what we're up against these jackpot games is go to the Quick Picks link and just run off 50 or 100 sets of numbers on your favorite game. Then check how they did after the draw. It's an eye opener.
