Why would you think Tennessee would win again? The last time there was a Tennessee winner was in 2019. Tennessee has 8 total lottery jackpot wins. Where as California has 13. The #1 spot goes to Indiana with 39 wins. California has more lottery vending machines in more locations than any other state in the US. Yeah it is wild how some states have never had a powerball or mega millions jackpot winner. Unfortunately North Dakota is one of them, considering that state spends the least amount of money on the lottery. Massachusetts spends the most money on the lottery and has had 6 lottery jackpot winners. Many people have been complaining that California always wins the jackpots. This is not true, California has won the lottery jackpot 13 times where as Indiana is #1 with 39 Jackpot wins

Yes I did see the video of the woman running through the store screaming and crying that she was the winner of the 1 billion powerball. Then she ran out of the store and jump in her BMW and drove away. CA lottery officials are saying that they are not sure if she is the actual winner or not. I read somewhere else that it was a man who won. It is going to be awhile for this whole thing to get sorted out.

look at numbers of the second tier winners:

CA= 7 winners

FL= 5 winners

NY= 5 winners

TX= 4 winners

these 21 players might have had a system that bases on birthdays.

I think Indiana was one of the original states that organized the powerball game. It joined the game in 1992 while CA joined in the game in 2013 (11 years later).

simply, CA has more people. it's a numbers game.

Some people on here are complaining that someone in California has won the jackpot again. California has more lottery vending machine in more locations: Walmarts, corner stores, mini marts, CVS/Drug stores/grocery stores, etc. than any other state in the U.S. In my state, our local Walmart just got a lottery vending machine last year or so. Considering the fact they are three hours behind Florida for PB and same for Georgia MM they have to close the sales early.

Looked up Cumberland Gap which we drove by two weeks ago. Had PB not been won was going to drive there to get KY, VA TN tickets all within close proximity of each other. It is 144 miles from here. IDK that trick playing in other states has never panned out.

That is true. The more tickets sold in an area, the better chance of there being a winner. It's a numbers game.

I live in Louisiana and some people complain about the New Orleans area having so many winners. New Orleans is our biggest city so it makes sense the most tickets would be sold there.

The lottery website has a map showing where all the winners are sold and most are in the southeastern part of the state, which is the most populated part of the state.

It does not surprise me that someone from California won it, considering it has more lottery vending machines in more places than anywhere else in the country. This means probably every mini mart, grocery store, Walmart, gas station and corner store has a lottery vending machine. In my state, my local Walmart just got its first lottery vending machine about a year ago.

For the second time in less than a year, someone in California won a lottery jackpot worth more than $1 billion.

After a run of 36 drawings without a jackpot winner, the 37th drawing of the multi-state Powerball game produced a single $1.0798 billion winner last night when one lottery ticket sold in California matched all five numbers plus the Powerball.

The whopping jackpot is the sixth-largest the world has ever seen, and
