They came very close to accomplishing that. Until someone realized how much money the lottery was bringing in.

Another Sunset Review this year. We'll see if some of the politicians in Austin try to get stupid again.

I admire him sticking it out as long as he did.

Remember some politicians wanted to get rid of the lottery altogether! They draw pick 3 or Pick 4 four times/day except for Sundays.

Are there Indian tribes in Texas? If so, they could open their own casinos like they have in other states where casinos aren't necessarily legal...Alabama for one...and still no lottery there

It's quite a melancholy feeling publishing this story today. Gary Grief is an amazing, talented executive, and the lottery industry is going to feel his absence for a long time. It's not just Texans who have benefited over the years from Gary's involvement and guidance, but the entire industry in the US and around the world.

Lottery industry leader to step back after 32 years of service

The Texas Lottery's Executive Director and longest-serving member Gary Grief announced he will retire at the end of February 2024.
