The San Fransisco coach didn't know the rules changed for overtime. He thought he could win with a field goal. Anyone who bet on the 49ers didn't have a chance at all of winning.

I don't know if I would ever wager on a sports game. Although I sometimes detect patterns in the outcomes of games (for example, UCLA has never lost to USC in football in the Year of the Dog, and unranked Georgia has beaten ranked Auburn in football in the last four years ending in 6), I believe my bet would take away from my ability to enjoy the game.

I would like to place a bet but I found out that sports betting is illegal in my state. Bummer. I've never done it before and would like to give it a try. Ah well.

I don't do sports wagering. Glad that somehow this passed last May in Kentucky. Remember a year ago November the TV news interviewed me on my thoughts of the subject. Said it is stupid folks traveling to other states to wager; they're going to do that. Somehow resonates with Alabama not getting a lottery!

Looked @ the machine Saturday and months earlier some guy was trying to explain it to me. Guess I'm just dense, it looks like a foreign language to me.

Nearly 68 million American adults about 1 in 4 plan to bet on this year s Super Bowl, setting a record by a wide margin, according to the gambling industry s national trade association.

Figures released Tuesday by the American Gaming Association include bets placed with legal outlets, as well as with illegal bookies and online operations in other countries.

The volume of betting participation is projected to be 35% higher than last year, which was the previous record.
