I am happy for them and am certain they had a great time.

As someone working in Finance, I hope that the lottery did break down the cost of the experiential prize to the winner.

This is because experiential prizes (vacations, concert tickets, makeovers) are considered taxable income by the IRS and must be reported at their fair market value .

They will likely receive a Form 1099-MISC if the value exceeds $600, and yes it does.
