I just checked the UK lotto website. Going to the 'good to know' section, it doesn't make sense for cut-off times and will send them an email, if feasible to look @ it. (don't know if they have a contact us section. Having lived in Deutschland, danke US Army for 39 months I'm well aware of the six hour time difference

US annuity jackpot is $567,000,000 so we in America pay $2.00 to win way more money than the UK does for over $6.00???? Does that make sense to anyone?

All the other British lotteries are way less cost per ticket. I will surprised if they sell many until as others here say the jackpot reaches 1 Billion pounds but with the apparent discounted jackpot in place that would be $1.4 billion.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but, what I see is a billion dollar jackpot before September to 'welcome' the UK players. Which will be split between a UK ticket and a US state. I'm not saying they control the numbers... but they sure as hell know about the probability cycle and they can estimate when a draw is close to winning. The UK is coming in at about 700 million est... Just wanted to say this out loud to someone even if you don't agree or tell me they can't control 'random'.

If you're instincts prove right I'm gonna let those zombies and junkies bring the jackpot to 500 mil before I jump in to put down five dollars for a play.

I'm already doing so for MegaMillions.

In Our Opinion,

Keep on the look out for the $5 Powerball.

Great the UK is joining, but at the same time, they will be paying a little more than $5 per line.

We think this is the lead in to US paying $5 a line.

If it does, there goes any interest we have in these National games no matter what the Jackpot might be.

Junkies and Zombies alike can go right on ahead and keep telling us how great it is, but...

You nailed it. They focused on the jackpot hitting $150M faster, but completely ignored the reset.

Think of it like a pendulum:

Their Argument Your Counter (Correct)

Jackpot hits $150M faster = 10X turns off sooner Jackpot resets to $20M faster = 10X turns back on sooner

Fewer drawings with 10X More total drawings with 10X because resets happen more often

Since MUSL is exporting Powerball to UK, why don't they import Euromillions with all its trimmings to USA.

Since they don't sell Euromillions in the US I don't really pay any attention to it, but the name makes me strongly suspect that it's not a UK game. That would mean the UK has about as much chance of exporting it to the US as Rhode Island has of exporting MM to the UK.

You said Jackpot will Grow faster the sane thing was said about Mega Millions until reality hits.

However this is what I see. I expect the same results that was created when MM raised its tickets to $5.00. Sooner or later the UK players will get used to it.

For the UK, its just another chance for a big Game Just like the US has PB amd MM.

To be optimistic is the key . If you spend $50 per month previously you can still spend same $50 per month tomorrow. The only difference is instead of a boring Roller coaster you are now Riding Anaconda lol . 4 or $5.37 (!) for a ticket over here.

Euromillions is only 2.50 with jackpots often approaching 100 million and sometimes over that amount.

Don't expect much interest until a billion dollar jackpot exists.

OK, the name factor may be an issue. While Powerball has a characteristic neutral (regional) name. Euromillions does not. I believe Australia has Power ball though not connected to the American game.

Also maybe increase the cutoff to 300 mil rather than 150 mil? Just saying.

Exactly, so many people keep whining about California keep winning not knowing that Indiana still remain the top Powerball jackpot winning state. I think the main reason California has been winning more often over these last few years, is California now has more lottery vending machines in more places than any other state in the US.

Two days ago I asked Alexa for Powerball #'s. He gave me five and specified the PB #. Today received an em ail that $20 was won. Looked up the #'s, this was on DP. Today I thanked Alexa for giving me the #'s. He got very agitated and insisted no such conversation ever happened. We went back and forth several times. Stuck with 10X? I can't see any reason why PB players who buy the PowerPlay option are stuck with it.

Since Oct of 2015 the 10X multiplier has appeared just handful of times. (Although it did show twice this year)

That's because if the jackpot is less than $150,000,000 10X is in play, but the minute the jackpot exceeds $150,000,000 it's removed from play. But more than that, the 10X multiplier is just 1 of the 43 balls used as a multiplier.

One downside for US players -

Faster growing jackpots mean the 10X multiplier when you buy the PowerPlay option will be removed from play sooner. It gets removed from play when the jackpot exceeds $150,000,000. If the jackpot gets to $150,000,000 sooner due to UK ticket sales then the 10X multiplier gets removed sooner. Not that the 10X multiplier happens a lot, but it'll probably be seen even less than it does now. G5
