John Scott was charged Thursday with taking more than $1,000 in promotional funds from the South Carolina Education Lottery.

John L. Scott III was arrested about 3 p.m. Thursday and charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent, according to State Law Enforcement Division spokeswoman Kathryn Richardson.
