Thieves are sooooo stupid. Lottery tickets are one of the most tracked items for sale in the retail environment. Each pack (and its individual tickets) are tracked from the printer to the warehouse to the store they are sold in. Each ticket has a unique number assigned to it and thus, if they are stolen, all a retailer has to do is to provide the game, pack, and ticket numbers stolen and those tickets are as good as a one way ticket to jail.Reminds me of the time a few years ago in Northern Virg... Two brothers from Antigo, Wisconsin were jailed Tuesday after they were caught trying to cash stolen lottery tickets.The Shawano County Sheriffs Department said the tickets were among 2,184 Wisconsin Lottery tickets taken from a burglary at the Remington Oil gas station in Birnamwood about 3 a.m. Tuesday.
