It looks Tennessee has 2 choices: pay Mr. Perry and Ms. Magers-Elliott $1 million each right now, or spend a lot of money on lawyers, lose the case and pay them $1 million (plus their lawyer fees) later on.

I'm beginning to detect a theme here: write the rules for the game, make certain the players adhere to those rules, and then completely ignore them whenever convenient for the commission.I'm sure the great state of Tennessee will go through the requisite machinations, but they've just spent two million dollars they wouldn't have had to spend, had they only followed their own rules.Congratulations to Mr. Perry and to Ms. Magers-Elliott, who are about to become Tennessee's newest millionaires.... Dennis Perry said he doesn't want to sound ungrateful after winning $10,000 in a Tennessee Lottery drawing last weekend, but the Fayetteville, Tenn., man said mistakes during the drawing might have cost him the $1 million top prize.''I'm happy for what I won, it's just that I don't think it was fair the way it was played,'' said Perry, a 57-year-old disabled veteran.
