There are no lost funds. The new jackpot is an ESTIMATE, based upon what the states THINK they will sell, not what they sold in the past. All funds earmarked for prizes are 100% distributed after each draw (unless no one claims the prize of course).

What other monies? The advertized jackpot amount is based on the minimum expected contribution from each participating state to the jackpot pool based on their sales. There is no other monies . The portions from each state to the jackpot pool from each of the earlier advertized jackpots helped make up the $290 million. The rest of the prize payout levels are the responsibility of each state's lottery individually. So, therefore, there is no other monies to be had.

I have one question- with the prior drawing the jackpot was at 220 and since no one won it went to 280 later raised to 290....my question is this; what happened to the other monies? If no one had won on Friday then the lottery probably would have gone to 370 million at least instead this is ditributed to the 11 states - but in what manner
