I know that Michigan donated the proceeds to education, but they only donate it to K-12 education. I was just saying it would be nice if they gave a small portion of that money as scholorships to michigan residents attending a michigan university or other college.Brad

I wish Michigan did something like this. I mean Michigan takes in over $600 million every year. $100 million would be great to help us college students in the state. That still leaves over $500 million for the public K-12 schools. Us college students need money! hahaBrad

new mexico, west virginia, ohio, and a few more. a lot of lotteries, such as south carolina, are strictly there for scholarships.

Tennessee education officials took in early returns on the state's lottery scholarship program and began looking at ways it could be massaged in future years.Roughly 36,000 students have been given HOPE scholarships so far, awards worth $3,000 a year at four-year schools and $1,500 at community colleges.
