True. Lower prize payouts are not consistent with the JackPot. I too am leaning more towards playing Take Five (5/39). Of course the JP is much lower than MM, but TF has a JP winner practically everyday, and sometimes more than one. I guess it all goes back to the saying Too much of anything is not good , including Mega Millions JP money lol.

you state a good point. here's what mega millions needs to do. restructure the percentage of the prize pool that goes to the jackpot, and increase the lower prizes. powerball pays better for matching the powerball than mega millions does for matching the mega ball, and matching the mega ball is harder. the same is true for the next 2 or 3 prize levels up. mega millions should also award a higher prize for matching 4+1. it's the same as powerball, but with harder odds. now what powerball needs to... I think after each drawing the amount of money going to the jackpot should be reduced and increase the payout structure...I think more people will play if payout for each pay level was higher........ I don't think so. Notice how the number of people buying tickets increases dramatically as the jackpot gets higher.

it doesn't matter which lottery you play, its a waste of money.you can call it the tax of the fools .even though, i play lottery because i wanna be in the game,and i made a rull to play only the numbers between 1 and 20.1:10 all the six in israel are in the first 20.
