My advice is to not to buy any $2 ticket, even for an otherwise good game like MA Cash Winfall. If you do, you are voting with your wallet and telling the lottery you don't mind paying $2 for a ticket. Well, I do mind. Massachusetts has season tickets for all the $1 games - $100 for 104 drawings, $50 for 52 drawings. They don't offer a season ticket for Cash Winfall, because they know people would resist paying $200 for 1 year season ticket. That should tell you something. So the $2 ticket price... [ More ]

When will lottery agmes cost $2? Now! Delawares new lotto and pensylvanias Match 6 are $2 for 3 lines. There will always be $1 games as long as there are $1 bills. Funny how nickle slots are still popular.

JimmySandwhen I said 100 percent increase i was referring to the hypothetical situation in which we would see an increase from $1 to $2 for one play. But, you are right that it would be a 33 percent increase if you 3 lines of numbers for $2.

I dont think the lottery will ever cost $2. Everyone knows there is something very novel about spending one dollar in exchange for one chance at a jackpot. However, if the MM or PB people decide to do something stupid and increase the cost I think they would do it in a more conspicuos manner. That is instead of charging 2 dollars for one ticket (a 100 percent increase) they might try giving a person 3 lines of numbers for 2 dollars.

If individual state lotteries begin offering online ticket sales, that would effectively cut costs and allow them to keep purchase prices down to $1 while increasing sales. Would love to purchase tickets in the comfort of my home! Also might cut down on some auto emission pollution while they're at it.

You maybe right about that. But I hope that the people who run the lottery games in each State would put themselves in the ordinary players shoes and think, would I play more at $1 or more at $2. I realize that many of the people who run State lotteries think that many gamblers have a disease and would bet at any cost, but I hope not all of them feel this way. I mean, it would spoil some of our fun if they did increase the prices.litebets27
